Product Overview
DuraGlide® Dry Lubricants
The Duraglide® family of dry lubricants is a proprietary, ISO-10993 tested coating from MicroCare Medical engineered for assembly environments. The volatile carrier fluid deposits a thin dry film on almost any surface geometry. This coating eliminates friction and imparts ultra-low "break-away" forces to minimize actuation problems caused by tight-fitting tolerances in medical assemblies. Because parts slip together more easily, DuraGlide® speeds assembly as well as improves patient outcomes.
Application methods include dipping, wiping, brushing or aerosols. A single application is adequate for most uses. The most cost-effective process uses a single-sump dipping machine engineered for the Duraglide® dry lubricants. This machine puts the fluid into a low temperature "rolling boil" to insure the PTFE particles remain in suspension. It also reduces evaporative losses of the carrier fluid.
Important money-saving benefits of this system:
Imparts an ultra-low coefficient of friction using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
ISO-10993 tested and certified
Coating process is fast
Non-flammable for easy handling, shipping and storage
Long "hang-time" for improved coating quality
Factory calibrated for consistent coatings
Heat-treatable for improved endurance
Nonpyrogenic
Compatible with all sterilization processes
Non-migrating (no silicone)
Excellent materials compatibility
Duraglide® products are available in packages from a 10ounces/350 grams to 55 gallon/200 liter drums
