Engineering for orthopedic and rehabilitation devices: load-sensing crutches, range-of-motion and gait monitors, post-operative therapy devices, powered rehabilitation equipment, fixation tools and instruments. Mechanical design with finite element and stress analysis, sensors and electronics, firmware, and design for manufacturing, with a dedicated cleanroom for high-precision orthopedic work.
Examples: a load-sensing rehabilitation crutch with BLE and an injection-molded housing, 100 pairs produced; electronics and firmware for a rehabilitation chair, 2,100 hours in 16 weeks, with five pre-production units and a design history file ready for a 510(k); a post-operative cold therapy device taken from concept to clinical trials in 12 months.
ISO 13485:2016 certified quality system; $125 per hour.
