In Vivo examinations with the VivaScope technology using Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM) allow for an “Optical Biopsy” using a non-invasive procedure. See the different skin layers of your patients in real time.

The VivaScope 1500 is a standalone system capable of capturing high-resolution macro and micro images from the epidermis to the superficial dermis. The system provides optical sectioning of unstained epithelium and the supporting stroma which provide cellular level details and create live images that may be reviewed bedside or transferred to a remote physician.

This Reflectance Confocal Microscopy (RCM) based solution enables real-time differentiation between pathogenic and healthy tissue by using a near-infrared laser (830 nm) that penetrates the superficial layers and is reflected by components of the skin.

The information is provided in near real time by the fast scanning of the instrument on the skin, which allows an immediate review by the physician. Suspicious areas can be quickly identified and removed with standard resection procedures, which reduces unnecessary biopsies and improves patient care.

This technology is insurance accepted with several CPT codes available for reimbursements.
