Over Molding

Overmolding capability allows for improved product design and durability while enhancing appearance of the injection molded components. This process allows two separate molds to be combined into one single part increasing the resilience of the part and making the part more visually appealing. This process is often used when the combination of inserts becomes too complex to be completed in a single molding process.

Process

A pre-mold is insert molded out of one material and then transferred to a second mold.

Using a single shot process, a second material is then molded over the first to create the final molded component.
