PTI's micromolding offers you a low-cost, short-lead-time process for small parts, and it cuts your time to market in half while producing cost savings up to 40%. The micromolding process is designed to meet the needs of customers in a number of market segments including medical, telecommunications, electronic, automotive, aerospace and consumer products.

Micromolding uses a closed-loop manufacturing process where the raw material is conveyed to the molding machines by a mini material-handling system. Mold changes can be performed in less than 10 minutes, and part runners with residual regrind are eliminated in the process. Through optimal cavitation, there is a reduction in costly and inefficient downtime for frequent setups. Lower cavitation, combined with higher machine utilization results in higher Cpk's and lower PPM defects than conventional molding.

Micromolding molds, similar to conventional hot-runner, runnerless molds, are built using the latest technology integrated CAD/CAM/CNC equipment, allowing PTI to reduce mold lead-times by more than 50% compared to traditional moldmaking processes.
